Skopnik Family News
We celebrated a family Christmas - all the kids home thus the new picture on the page. We celebrated the season with a number of traditions and events. As a family we sing songs Christmas eve with a Christmas reading, and then a fondu of cheese and breads of various kinds. We have a prayer time and then open one gift.
Christmas morning, well the traditions go on. We read the Christmas story after everyone is up that is and after we have a hardy brunch of fresh cinnamon rolls that Sharon baked a couple of days before. Then we open gifts. Dad did something special for his children - he gave out journals with a one year Bible Reading plan of which 4 family members will be joining dad in reading the Bible in a year or so.
Then it's a day of games and fun with the Christmas meal - yum! Then we open stockings - wow, its like a party all day, singing a happy birthday to the saviour of all mankind. Then after all the games and fun, well then its a chocolate fondu in the evening.
You can celebrate Christmas without family traditions, well at least in our home.

We have had some wonderful time as family.
Camping the last week of August
Andrew & Alyssa joined us!
A weekend with Ashlyn & Brayden
included a hike & ice cream!
Ashlyn finally got a full time job in August after juggling numerous part time positions for the last year. We praise God with her! Brayden is in his 4th year at Western University in London, ON.
Alyssa continues hairdressing and taking classes at Nipissing University in North Bay, ON. Andrew delivers parts for a parts company.
Dustin just got a new job and continues to create animations. Dylan is in his last semester of high school!
Sharon is working as a part time receptionist at the local Toyota dealership for now as her and Gord move forward with Avant Ministries and the mission to South Sudan and Refugee's locally.
Gord and Sharon hope to travel out west for the month of October to speak at a couple of mission conferences and to continue to raise partners for the ministry. We hope to see some of you then!

Sharon was gifted a flight to Saskatchewan to attend her nephew's wedding and visit at the family farm! Dustin, our oldest son, joined her and also enjoyed the great outdoor spaces!

Gordon and Sharon will be finished with International Teams December 31, 2014.
